For over 25 years, Amherst Corporation has been building high quality custom homes and renovation projects. Founded in 1987 by Charles Schagrin, Amherst Corporation combines a wealth of experience and management skills into creating a company that earns a reputation as a leading custom home builder.
Charles (Chuck Schagrin attended University of Pennsylvania and Washington University, graduating with his Masters of Architecture and Masters of Business degrees.
Design, construction, client relationships - all are passions for him. Since 1980, he has grown the company to include projects both large and small, plain and fancy, elaborate and simple, in town and out of town. In his free time he is a rower and gardener and enjoys taking his Bernese Mountain Dog Benny, for therapy dog visits to nursing homes and childrens rehabilitation centers.
